Basket (Hanakago) for Ikebana made of bamboo. Ikebana, meaning the way of flowers or the art of bringing flowers to life, is a traditional Japanese art based on flower arrangement. Hanakago is a Japanese term meaning flower baskets. These are made using the Japanese bamboo weaving technique, which is a traditional art in itself. They are used in Ikebana and sometimes in the tea ceremony. Period: Taisho 1912-1926
