Small box in horn or tortoiseshell from the Directoire period, France, Late 18th century, Circa 1790-1800, the lid decorated in gold filigree with a scene depicting "Love Punished", the gold filigree inserted between two slightly curved circular glasses, the scene circled in gold, and the edge of the lid forming a frame in guilloché and gilded metal.
