Exceptional solid walnut desk, molded and finely carved with hogweed decoration. Top with rich marquetry decoration of umbels and a dragonfly in flight on a background of Rio and Burmese rosewood. It opens with three small drawers on the tier and a drawer in the belt, asymmetrical construction with laterally cut-out storage compartments repeating the decoration, bronze buttons, note two small old veneer grafts on the upper top and treated and filled wood-eating holes.
