A fan of animal representations, Charles de Condamy was a French painter who found success during the Belle Époque. He exhibited at the Salon from 1878 to 1882. His depictions of hunting, dogs and horses were often included in magazines such as Le Soleil du Dimanche and published as engravings. Reflecting the leisure activities of an era, his subjects evoke the multiple pleasures of outdoor activities.
