Biedermeier (Second Period) cherry extending table with ebony strip inlays, France circa 1900.
Ebony diamond inlay at the top of the legs and along the frame with inlaid ebony strips. 4 x 50 cm solid cherry tops with frame. Round solid cherry top, ebonized on the edge. Tapered square legs, extended at the bottom and with ebonized plates. At the bottom in the middle are two additional folding legs for better stability when more than two tops are used. Antique solid wood extension mechanism. Extendable in 5 different lengths, up to a maximum of 311 cm. Fully extended (4 tops), the table can accommodate up to 12 people. Restored condition and hand-polished with shellac.
