Jacques MadyolBelgian painter, born September 6, 1871 in Ixelles. Died August 15, 1950 in Ixelles. Son of the painter Adrien Jean Madiol. Painter of genre, animated landscapes and sea views. Portraitist. He was a student at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. Very early on, he painted landscapes of the Brussels area. He was one of the founders of the Le Labeur circle with J. Stobbaerts. He produced numerous landscapes and seaside scenes in the South of France. His portrait of King Albert I was presented to the Brazilian Parliament. He received the Nobel Prize in 1920. Titled on the back: "Au Port de Nice" - Brussels. Dimensions without frame: 65 x 81 cm. Dimensions with frame: 88 x 104 cm. Very good condition in its original frame. Canvas having been cleaned in our workshops. Price: €1,650.
