Incredible carved stone grotesque head from Derbyshire, North Counties, England. It features a gaping mouth and grotesque nostrils, two large eyes, and possibly a mane of hair on either side of the head. It was likely originally carved in a church. The stone has a beautiful patina, with small patches of moss on top. Of a substantial and impressive size. 13th-century stone, presented on a contemporary metal stand.
