Circular in shape, with stylized polychrome decoration on a cracked background. Signed on the reverse.

Son of the painter Albert Besnard and the sculptor Charlotte Dubray. He studied at Carnot High School and then trained in painting. At 31, he devoted himself entirely to ceramics. Member of the Committee of the Society of Decorative Artists, he exhibited at the Salon des Tuileries in 1925 and at the Salon d'Automne from 1926. His works are preserved, among others, at the Musée du Luxembourg, the Musée des beaux-arts de Lyon and the Musée des arts décoratifs.
