Restoration Period Chest of Drawers or more precisely Restoration Period Chest of Drawers in Cherry.
Beautiful chest of drawers in the spirit of a chest of drawers but with 6 drawers in cherry veneer on the front and solid cherry on the sides, uprights and top.
A Restoration period piece of furniture, first half of the 19th century. It therefore opens with 6 drawers on the front, each drawer sliding perfectly.
The front is nicely veneered with cherry burl, thus offering a beautiful butterfly wing decoration with a very beautiful symmetry.
Each drawer opens with original Louis XVI bronze drop handles as well as brass keyholes.
The original locks are presented but the key is missing.
The uprights and sides are in solid cherry as well as the molded top.
The lower crosspiece is slightly scalloped as are the feet in the Louis XV style.
The backs are original. A restoration on the right rear foot.
The drawers are mounted with dovetails. Solid, robust and in very good condition.
good condition. no wood-eating insect attack to report but a preventative treatment was carried out in the workshop. beautiful waxed patina in original blond walnut color.
