"Empire Clock Gilt Bronze Vestal Woman Butterfly Guitar Leroy 19th Century"
Finely chiseled gilt bronze clock depicting a woman draped in the antique style, perhaps a vestal, near a fire and holding a butterfly in her hand, a guitar resting on a cushion on the other side of the dial, beneath it a floral crown, base decorated with a cherub holding two garlands of flowers, from the 1st Empire period, early 19th century. This clock is in good general condition. The movement will need to be serviced. The dial is signed "Leroy Palais Royal n°114 in Paris". We have the pendulum but not the key. Please note: the minute hand is detached, the woman moves a little, the butterfly is removed from the hand, wear to the gilding, wear and scratches from time, take a good look at the photos.
