Large medal portrait in Sèvres biscuit (unglazed porcelain intended to give the visual effect of marble) representing the profile of the Emperor Napoleon III. It is titled Napoleon III Emperor and signed J Peyre and E de Nieuwerkerke Director. On the back the Sèvres stamp S66 for 1866. Our portrait is presented in a plate holder to be hung on the wall. It can also be framed in a circular or circular view frame. Beautiful souvenir object of the Second Empire, one can easily find portraits of Napoleon III of 8cm in diameter in miniature format. Here it is the very large format. Very good condition, a small chip on the periphery, hidden under the mount. Medal diameter: 22.5cm
