Circa 1825FranceSpectacular Art Deco ball cap in silver lace mesh bearing the Maison Carlier label and dating from the Roaring Twenties. Bell-shaped fitting the head, the bottom is in silver lace enhanced with interlacing embroidery of spun and curled silver blades. This cap, which has retained its tinsel, is decorated around the edge with silver braid in the shape of drops highlighted with matching tassels as charms. On the inside, cream silk tulle around the head and a woven silk label indicating Maison Carlier. Note some missing tassels and drops, the silver mesh remaining in good structural condition.Dimensions: Head circumference 63 cm, crown diameter 42 cm.
