Two-Handled Sugar Bowl and its Stand
Silver (950) – Minerva 1st standard hallmark
19th Century – Second Empire - FRANCE
Two-handled silver sugar bowl and its stand, decorated with acanthus leaves and a monogram. The finial is shaped like flowers. The bowl can be used as a jam pot.
The set is made of 950 silver (Minerva 1st standard), by François-Alphonse DEBAIN, active in Paris from 1847 to 1864.
All three pieces bear the Minerva 1st standard hallmark.
The DEBAIN maker’s mark is clearly visible on the stand and sugar bowl, but not found on the lid – it may be located beneath the inner mounting of the finial.
