Great 18th Century Italian Painting, Mystical Marriage Of Saint Catherine

Antique Italian painting from the second half of the 18th century. Oil on canvas artwork depicting a religious subject, antique copy by Correggio (1489-1534), Mystical Marriage of Saint Catherine of Alexandria. A painting of great size and impact, finely crafted in the smallest details, from the ring held in Jesus' right hand, to the hair of the characters and the splendid clothes. The faces and hands of the characters are delightful (see photo). On the right we find a young Saint Sebastian who scrutinizes the scene, at the top left instead the martyrdom of the Saint (see photo). Painting for antique dealers and interior decorators, adorned with a 20th century carved wooden frame, lacquered in faux marble and gilded (bronze color), of beautiful decoration. Painting in a beautiful patina, already relined with replacement of the frame in the 20th century, with several small drops of color (see photo). Painting of excellent quality, overall in a fair state of conservation. Interior size H 120.5 x W 98 cm.
