- Surreal Reality -
At first glance the still life shows a glass and a pair of glasses, at second glance two architectural elements that create a depth of space. The glass and the glasses reflect and create optical phenomena that make something visible. Through the glasses we see the sharply focused structures of the lace ceiling on the table. The glasses become a metaphor for becoming visible. Lying upside down on the table, they make it clear that the 'surreal' reversal of perspective makes the structure of the world visible.
