The technical worker seems to be illuminating himself with a light bulb in his hand. Behind him is an almost monstrous looking machine with gears and a drum. Obviously something is being produced here on an assembly line, as is the light bulb itself, which illuminates the worker as well as the inventor and real power behind the machine.

About the artist

Günther Filus was born in Berlin and studied painting and graphic art with Franz Nagel at the Munich Art Academy from 1954 to 1958. In 1959 he founded a graphic workshop in Regensburg, where he first made lithographs and from 1965 on etchings. Between 1959 and 1976, Günther Filu's works were shown almost every year at the major art exhibitions in Munich, in addition to his participation in numerous other exhibitions.
