Superb pair of English bottle coasters made entirely of solid silver.

The bottle holders consist of a silver plate resting on a small molding. A wide openwork gallery holds the bottle.
Each piece is hallmarked:
. Lion passant for English solid silver
. An anchor for the city of Birmingham
. The date letter W for the year 1971-1972
. The silversmith's mark: FH within triangles for Frank Hawker, active from 1970.

A magnificent pair of bottle coasters that will elegantly adorn your table. All-silver English silver bottle coasters are relatively rare; these generally have a wooden base.
