"Polar Bear, Crackled Ceramic From Longwy, After François Pompon."
On the trail of prey? Our beautiful polar bear walks while sniffing the air. Under its right front paw, the blue stamp of LONGWY ("Manufacture de Longwy depuis 1795décorée à la main"; in the center the coat of arms of the city surrounded by two crosses of Lorraine) and the N° "F6020". We also owe to this factory the work of tricolor enamels for the large eyes of our bear. Beautiful object from the 50s, in perfect condition, inspired by the "polar bear" of the animal sculptor F. POMPON.
