Hairline crack in the hat
A sculptor, active in the 1880s, living in the rue de Seine in Paris, Alice Rio exhibited at the first Salon des Indépendants in 1884. This bust of a young girl wearing a hat in the shape of a pattypan courgette is the only work by Alice Rio known today.
