"Fireplace Set After Carrier-belleuse, Late 19th Century"
A brown patinated spelter mantelpiece set, after Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse (1824-1887), comprising a central clock depicting two draped cherubs or putti supporting a clock globe. The brass and enamel dial is signed Jay, Passage Jouffroy in Paris. The ensemble is completed by two six-armed candelabras, decorated with foliage and supported by fluted shafts, each resting on two putti. The work is signed "Carrier" on the base. Late 19th century work. Height: 80 and 81 cm.
