"Louis XV Period Curved Chest Of Drawers, Mid-18th Century, Walnut And Marble"
Curved chest of drawers in the Louis XV period, mid-18th century. In carved and molded walnut, our chest of drawers has three large drawers. The rounded uprights are carved with flower fall motifs, the feet are decorated with flowers and acanthus. The front crosspiece, harmoniously fretted and molded, has a flower decoration. The side crosspieces are worked in the same way. Our piece of furniture is topped with a thick pink / red marble veined with gray. The back of this marble was probably chipped. It was then realigned, and a molded wooden strip was placed behind the stone to compensate for the lack. This wood has the same shape, thickness, and bec de corbin work as the marble and perfectly matches its alignment, making this repair discreet and harmonious with the rest of the furniture. Furniture in very good condition, presence of old traces of xylophages due to the type of wood (walnut), restorations of use, graft on one of the rear legs (see photo) The handles with "Chinese" decoration and the lock entries are in gilded bronze.
