The box is rectangular, with all sides outlined with a pearl frieze and decorated with rudentée channels.
The lid is adorned with a large oval cartouche held by a charming ribbon knot and itself holding two palm leaves, also knotted.
The register is in the style of the reign of Louis XVI with this neoclassical ornamentation.
The bottom of the box is made of leather.
The interior of the box is lined with purple velvet.
