"The Venus De Medici - Large Bronze After The Antique - Barbedienne Cast 19th Century. H 65 Cm"
Large bronze representing the Venus Medici or Venus Pudica, after the antique attributed to Cleomenes of Athens (kept in Florence, Uffizi Gallery). Long kept at the Villa Medici, most likely known by Botticelli who would draw inspiration from it for The Birth of Venus. Work of Ferdinand Barbedienne Founder, Second half of the 19th century, circa 1870. In excellent condition, very beautiful patina, one arm mounted with a key, see photos. Dimensions: H 65 x W 19 x D 16 cm
