- This candelabra is made up of a gilded bronze structure; a polished square base, an amati cylindrical base (guilloché and bush hammered) topped with a chiseled surface of leaves arranged in scales. It is on the latter, that stands on a globe, a winged allegorical female figure in patinated bronze draped in antique style, a universal Fame. This sculpture holds at arm's length, like a caryatid, a bouquet with three arms of light with a torch in the center. These arms of light are finely chiseled; an acanthus leaf follows their curve in the hollow of which develops a volute winding around a delicate flower. The saucers feature a chiseled decoration in a diagonal bead frieze and the binets have a decoration similar to that of the guilloche base.
- These candelabras are distinguished by the finesse of their carving and by the research into material effects with a variation of finishing techniques (polishing, guilloché, bush hammering); the polished surface of the globe brings shine and stands out more compared to the matte surface of the support. Added the juxtaposition of the patinated bronze of Renommée, these candelabras offer pleasant plays of contrasts of color and light.
- Other similar candelabras are notably kept at the Mobilier National (see GML-10975-001)
-Good state of conservation.
