"Pair Of Antique Giltwood Frames Oval Italian Carved Photo Frames"
Pair Of Gilded Antique Frames of oval shape with ferine feet and a shell-shaped cymatium and two median decorations consisting of the interweaving of the outline of the outer frame forming an original geometric motif. A beautiful gilding in gouache gold leaf that in several parts reveals the Armenian red bole preparation, giving the frames a warm effect. In a good state of preservation apart from a restoration on a ferine foot. Inside, protected by glass, are two posthumous prints. The two frames lend themselves to being used as tabletop portrait frames with a slight modification.
They date back to the first half of the 19th century and come from Northern Italy.
