Painter: Albert Lepreux (1868-1959), French painter, listed on Akoun (the painters' rating) and Artprice. Born in Meaux and died in Paris. In 1928, he exhibited at the gallery “A la palette française” and at the Druet gallery. In 1931, during the 42nd exhibition of the Society of Independent Artists, he achieved great success: two paintings representing Meaux under the snow were acquired, one by the State Museums Purchasing Commission and the other by the Commission of Fine Arts and Museums of the City of Paris. This landscape evokes a landscape in the south of France, where a picturesque hamlet is revealed. In the center, a building that appears to be a winery stands proudly, adding a touch of authenticity to the scene. In the background, gentle hills emerge, creating an atmosphere of tranquility and serenity. In the foreground, a steep, wooded path. The colors chosen are delicate and harmonious, with a palette of greens, pinks, and warm beiges. This combination of hues creates a soft and dreamy atmosphere, transporting the viewer to a rural corner of paradise. The painting is signed lower right. Oil on canvas. It measures 33 x 46 cm without the frame and 48.5 x 35.5 cm with the maple wood frame.
