"Louis XVI Barometer In Gilded And Carved Wood"
Carved and gilded wooden barometer signed Carcano 1775. T
he barometer is carved in a rocaille decoration. At the top, two doves embrace under a leafy roof from which hangs a garland of flowers. The painted dial is encircled by a series of pearls. The barometer is framed with acanthus scrolls and bellflower bells that end in a scallop shell.
The thermometer is inscribed in a pearl cartouche.
