He began painting at the Académie Julian and moved to the Atelier of Marcel-André Baschet in 1900, then to the École des Beaux Arts of Jean-Léon Gérôme. Renoir's friendship freed him from academicism and Impressionism influenced the landscapes that he sent to the Salon from 1903. He was present at the Salons of the National Society of Fine Arts, at the Salon d'Automne, at the Salon des Tuileries. He is the father of the painter Yves Picart Le Doux, of the painter and tapestry artist Jean Picart Le Doux (1902-1982) and of Jacqueline Picart Le Doux.
