Pair of Rococo Style Giltwood Wall Consoles - Italy, 19th century
Beautiful pair of finely carved and gilded wood wall consoles, inspired by Rococo, most likely of Italian origin. The decoration is typical of the Rococo style with its dynamic volutes, lively acanthus leaves and asymmetrical scrolls of great vivacity.
Each console has a ribbed shell at the top, forming an elegant base for a vase, a sculpture or a precious object. The carving is dense and detailed, with beautiful old gilt leaf, with warm reflections. 19th century Italian work of excellent craftsmanship in the spirit of the 18th century.
