Large oil on wood depicting a view of the bay (Caledonia). Circa 1960. Signed lower center. Circa 1960. Size 122 x 85 cm. Nicolai Michoutouchkine was born in 1929 in Belfort, of Russian origin. He was co-founder with Aloi Pilioko of the foundation that bears their names and of the Oceanic Art Museum based in Port Vila. An internationally renowned artist, he was also a major collector of Pacific art.
