Oil on paper depicting a view of the Moselle Bay (New Caledonia). Signed, gallery label on the back, dated 1964. Size 67 x 43 cm. Nicolai Michoutouchkine was born in 1929 in Belfort, of Russian origin. He was co-founder with Aloi Pilioko of the foundation that bears their names and of the Oceanic Art Museum based in Port Vila. An internationally renowned artist, he was also a major collector of Pacific art.
