He trained in glassblowing techniques in several workshops in the south of France, then directed the ADAC glassblowing workshop in Paris between 1991 and 1994. Now based in the Landes region, Xavier Carrère combines glass with other materials such as metal, burnt wood, and concrete to create powerful, contemporary works. His work explores profound themes such as memory, resilience, and transformation. He is particularly known for his Ovolites, Liens, Big Bang, and Silences series, from which this piece is taken. His creations are regularly exhibited in major galleries and institutions, notably at the Musée d'Art Contemporain de Biot, where he maintains a strong artistic connection through residencies and exhibitions.
