Important ceremonial armchair in waxed natural wood. With its extraordinary proportions, this exceptional seat rests on four straight, square-section legs, each finished with a wide, square, molded foot. The two front legs are connected by a magnificent, richly carved and openwork crotch crosspiece. It is decorated in its center with a cartouche. The armrest supports are turned into a baluster and support very wide armrests of flattened shape and exceptional width. Two pretty consoles representing grotesques ensure the junction between the backrest and the armrests. The seat, as well as the backrest are in very thick leather and are in very good condition. Note, some small wear, scratches and small cracks quite normal, and due to use. The top of the backrest is decorated with two large bronze turlupets of gadrooned shape. The leather parts are decorated with a very beautiful ornamentation of shells and brass rosettes. This seat is of a very solid structure. It is an exceptional manufacture of the 19th century.
