"Superb Art Deco Vase"
Ovoid copperware vase, entirely hammered. Its surface has a reddish-brown patina. Its lower part features a decoration of triangles in golden shades and inverted triangles, thus forming diamonds. Signed Cl-Linossier, with his usual signature under the base. Circa 1925. Claudius Linossier, born in Lyon on November 21, 1893 and died in the same city on October 8, 1953, was a French coppersmith. One of the great figures of French ART-DECO, a goldsmith-enameller by training, he was at the same time a chaser, engraver, enameller, and finely mastered lacquers. During his life, he produced more than 3,600 pieces (plates, vases, etc.) based on silver, red copper, brass and nickel silver, which he gave colorful and patinated aspects to often geometric patterns.
