"Pair Of Candlesticks With Heraldic Lions And Fleur-de-lys In Silver-plated Bronze "
Pair of Renaissance style candlesticks with heraldic lions in silver-plated bronze, 19th century. Their sockets are openwork with stylized fleurs-de-lis and rest on the heads of the lions who walk on their hind legs and hold in their front paws a medallion intended to receive coats of arms. The whole is carried by a square base with openwork decoration of cartouches with medallions and stylized fleurs-de-lis. This pair of candlesticks is remarkable both for the subject and for its elegance and the finesse of its chiseling, particularly at the level of the manes.
