Milas rug hand knotted in wool on wool from western Turkey around 1960.
This rug is knotted with the double knot technique called Turkish knot or ghiordès.
It is composed of abstract and geometric figures and large stylized flowers, trees of life and botehs.
The colors placed on an ivory, beige, brick, red and lichen background match particularly well.
These symbols of nomadic origin knotted on this piece are the expression of beliefs and superstitions that are still relevant today. This rug is in impeccable condition.
