"Silver Pyxis, France Around 1800"
Smooth silver pyxis, resting on a circular base with three small cast feet. The cup, spherical in shape and supported by a cylindrical shaft, is removable. It is covered with a domed lid, surmounted by a globe-shaped grip. Two hooks applied to the rim allow the lid to be attached to the receptacle. France, circa 1800 950/1000 silver, Coq hallmarks — provenance: Saône-et-Loire Period of manufacture: 1798–1809 Total height: 10.8 cm Maximum diameter: 6.7 cm Weight: 108 g Very good condition Some minimal restorations
