"French School, Portrait Of A Woman In Coral Dress, Miniature, Early 19th Century, First Empire"
Very fine oval miniature in its brass frame, representing the portrait of an elegant woman in coral finery, in a very characteristic Empire dress, fitted under the chest, in vogue at the very beginning of the 19th century under the sartorial influence of Joséphine de Beauharnais. Very fine execution, this is an excellent miniaturist. We note a minimal lack (accentuated by the very enlarged photographs) at the level of the ear pearl. Charming subject in a generally remarkable state of preservation, which constitutes an interesting testimony to the finery of a woman of the world under the First Empire. Dimensions 6x4.5cm
