"“marine”, 1965, André Bourrié (1936-2017), Painter Of The French Navy"
André Bourrié, born May 4, 1936 in Montpellier and died January 7, 2017 in Marseille, is a painter with the Navy, appointed in 1983. A qualified ceramist and director of a molding and modeling workshop, he ended his teaching career after winning the title of "Meilleur Ouvrier de France." From then on, he devoted himself entirely to painting. A self-taught painter, he is known for his seaside landscapes, hamlets, and nature. His works, of great finesse, combine pointillism and neo-impressionism. His paintings depict a calm, beautiful, and peaceful world. For him, water is a reflection that doubles the serenity of the landscape. His works are imbued with a gentle nostalgia. He notably painted the landscapes of the Côte d'Azur, Vendée, and Languedoc.
