"Rare Emile Gallé Ceramics"
Emile Gallé faience planter made between 1863 and 1890, it bears the signature of Emile Gallé, founding father of the Nancy school. Its singular planter shape is decorated on one side with hand-painted seaside scenes highlighted with gold-plated lines. Evocation of Victor Hugo's drawings showing fishermen, ships ... whose verses often inspired Emile Gallé. On the other side, very pretty floral decoration enhanced with gold. Signed E.Gallé Nancy on the underside, very good condition, no accidents or restorations to report. Length: 31 cm. Height: 13.5 cm. Depth: 16 cm.
