Katana Blade: Period: Late Edo period, signed Heian jo Ju Osumi No Kami Taira Hiromitsu. Shape: Shinogi katana, with an Iori Mune back and an O Kissaki point. Nagako (blade tang): Ha Agari Kuru Jiri, with a Bo Hi type throat. Yakiba (tempering line): Gunome Ha, with a Nokume Hada blade grain. Nagasa (blade length): 75.5 cm. Saya (scabbard) Made of nuanced red lacquer. Tsuka (handle) Length: 27 cm. Covered with same (shagreen) and blue ito (braiding). Iron kashira and fuchi, decorated with gilt and silver copper dragonflies. Brass menuki representing a lobster. Tsuba: Iron, Moko Gata shape, decorated with bamboo motifs and a tiger. Total length of the katana: 108.5 cm. Condition: Wear and tear with visible restorations. Presence of kizu (imperfections) on the blade. Wakizashi Blade Period: Late Edo period. Shape: Shobu Zukuri, with an Iori Mune type back and a tip without Yokote. Nagako (blade tang): Ha Agari Kuru Jiri. Yakiba (tempering line): Toran Ha, with a Nokume Hada blade grain. Nagasa (blade length): 34.7 cm. Saya (scabbard) Made of nuanced red lacquer. Equipped with a signed kogatana (small knife), inserted in a brass kozuka decorated with sho motifs. Tsuka (handle) Length: 13.5 cm. Covered with same (shagreen) and blue ito (braiding). Iron kashira and fuchi, decorated with dragonflies in gilded copper.Menuki in brass representing a lobster.Tsuba: in iron, in the shape of a Moko Gata, decorated with landscapes, trees and mountains.Total length of the wakizashi: 53.5 cm.Condition: wear and tear characteristic of the period.Small kizu (imperfections) visible on the blade (see photos)
