Oil On Canvas 19th - Duvieux - Sunset, Venice

A student of Prosper MARILHAT, Henri DUVIEUX made his debut at the Salon in 1880 and specialized in views of Venice and Constantinople, for which he was actively sought after.

His works are featured in several museums: Avignon, Reims, etc.

The particularity of this work is in the use of pinkish hues which give it a certain softness and charm (generally blue and yellow tones dominate in Duvieux's work).

40 x 65 cms (with new frame, approximately 50 x 75 cms)

Signed lower left

Very good general condition, on its original canvas, note some slight repainting, traces of rubbing from an old frame on the edge of the canvas and a seed (small nail) in each corner

Painting has just been completely cleaned (removal of varnish), which has regained its pretty colors

Photos taken in natural light, in sunlight for the first ones, in the shade for the following ones
