Forest ranger like his father and grandfather, André Poirson comes from a family of two children. He was born in Moriville in the Vosges department in 1920. His profession took him, after the Vosges, to Provence then to Morzine, until his retirement in Saint-Jorioz, on the shores of Lake Annecy. Self-taught painter and sculptor, he held his first exhibition in 1929, then exhibited in France and participated in international Salons. He received various medals and diplomas of honor. His sculptures are influenced by the Holy Scriptures, the saints, the angels and the animals that accompany them. The landscapes of Lake Annecy are another source of his inspiration. He is one of the artist collaborators of the architect Maurice Novarina, specializing in religious buildings. His most important achievement is the decoration of the Chapel of the Meeting in Amphion-les-Bains, Haute-Savoie, where he composed an altarpiece complemented by numerous decorative panels. His works are exhibited in Europe and the United States.
