Emilien Victor Barthélemy, born in Marseille on February 3, 1885 and died in the same city on February 4, 1964, is a French painter. A student of Fernand Cormon, he is best known for his portraits, his outdoor nudes, his salon scenes often involving clergymen and his representations of children at the seaside. He exhibited continuously at the Salon des artistes français from 1910, was put in Hors-Concours and obtained a gold medal there, as well as at the Salon des artistes provincials in Marseille, the Salons de l'Exposition coloniale and the Salon des artistes mutilés (1928).
His works are preserved, among others, at the Museum of Fine Arts of Marseille and at the town hall of Châteaurenard. Knight of the Legion of Honour (June 10, 1918), Croix de Guerre (with three citations), member of the committee of the Friendly Society of French Painters and Sculptors and of the Society of French Landscape Architects, he received numerous prizes including the James Bertrand, Roux, Chavard, Henner, Pillini, Piot, Le Guay-Lebrun prizes and the Grand Prix de Rome 1914.
