"Large Tobacco Shop Advertising Figurine – Young Smoking Man In Painted Plaster – Advertising"
This is a very rare advertising figurine of a stylish young man, used for tobacco promotion. Made of plaster, it is full of amusing details. On his head, a folded newspaper as a hat, with visible inscriptions. On one side, we can read in Dutch: "Nieuws van den Dag" (News of the day), a Dutch newspaper that existed from 1923. The character has a friendly face and holds his smoke elegantly. He wears colorful clothes. In one hand, a pipe (probably original, but damaged – see photos in detail), and in the other, a tobacco jar. The figurine would have been produced in the 1930s. Condition: Good overall condition, with some surface restorations, mainly on the trousers (lighter yellow tint instead of brown khaki), as well as some signs of wear on the feet where the white plaster is visible.
