"Round Cufflink Box In Vermeil And Tortoiseshell In Russian Style - 63g"
Beautiful cufflink box in vermeil (solid silver gilded with fine gold). Circular in shape, it is adorned with a very fine chiseled decoration in the Louis XVI style, the openwork lid revealing a tortoiseshell plaque. The interior is also in vermeil. The box bears the hallmarks Minerve 1er Titre and that of the silversmith Henin et Compagnie. Period late 19th century or around 1900. Our box is a fine example of these luxury productions, in the Louis XVI Russian style, in vogue in high society at the end of the 19th century and in the 1900s. It does not bear a monogram. The weight of silver (62g, equivalent to the weight of a silver cup) also testifies to a luxury production. A fine witness to the daily refinement of high society at the end of the 19th century. Ideal for storing the everyday objects of a refined man: cufflinks, signet ring, watch and other small intimate objects. Excellent condition, no dents or accidents. Our box is over 100 years old and has remained in near mint condition. Height: 1.7cm Diameter: 6.2cm Net weight of silver: 63g
