Lovely domed box from the first half of the 18th century.
It is in walnut marquetry and native wood veneered on fir, with contrasting geometric decoration on each side.
The lid is decorated with a superb compass rose.
It opens and closes with a key, the lock works. The fir interior has a latch on the right side allowing the release of a side drawer in fir mounted with a miter cut.
The whole is in excellent condition.
The two hinges of the lid were changed in the 19th century.
