Object description :

"A 18th French Catholic Travel Reliquary With Quill Work "
Travel reliquary with a rare alternating octagonal shape containing four relics of saints including Saint Francis de Sales and Saint Joan of Chantal. Paperolle decorations on a beige silk background. The relics are protected under glass and the whole is contained in a cardboard case forming a box covered whith  purple silk. It is decorated in its center with a miniature monstrance in gilded brass. The borders are decorated with garland motifs in silver wire. France, 18th century catholic work.

Condition report : in its original condition with wear and a stain on the purple silk. Two relics have probably naturally disappeared. The central part was to contain a relic that has also disappeared. Two labels are out of place. A paperolle flower is detached.
