A virtuoso work by the master draughtsman of the Art Deco period - and an absolute lover of Kipling's writings - in preparation for one of the plates of a fairly confidential short story, The hunt of Kaa, set in the world of The Jungle Book. Here we see Jouve drawing more aggressively, less mechanically than usual, and above all having fun exploding the love between the brother and sister cubs. The closed eye crystallises all this brotherly tenderness.
