"Lebret's Transverse Flute In Paris Number 3235"
Louis Léon Joseph Lebret (born in 1862) spent ten years working for the Louis Lot factory, where he learned the trade of flute maker. In 1888, he established an independent workshop in Paris and devoted a long career to the manufacture of metal Boehm flutes, until the company was sold to René Celles in 1928, who was succeeded by Robert Malerne in 1932. Peter Spohr sums it up very succinctly: "Lebret, with Lot, for whom he had previously worked, Godfroy, Bonneville and Rive, is one of the famous French makers of Boehm flutes of the 19th century."
This flute is heavily silver plated and all keys still appear to function correctly.
